Reiki, introduction

Reiki is the Usui japanese physical system of  healing  for the soul, mind and body. Technically speaking reiki is one of the branches of the qigong 1 family used to activate, reconnect and harmonize the person to the cosmic energy through a deep  sense of relaxation.  Rei means cosmic energy, ki is the part of Rei that flaws from all living creatures where human life source stems from.  Ki is known in christians as light, in chinese as chi, the hindu call it prana , Cahunas call it mana and Vilchelm Reich 2 called it orgone energy or life force. It is rooted to budism and sinthoism but it differs a great deal because it does not require years of hard practise, it is delivered  through initiation. Moreover it is available to everyone; no skills or preparation is required.

Reiki is devided to three degrees.

Soden is the first degree and allows the person to connect to his/her physical body. Through four initiations we learn the 12 basic positions to place our hands on our body  together with positive affirmations. One can give a session to himself or other  through face to face meetings. Breathing through the session is essential as it is the bridge to consiousness. Deep relaxation, comfort and unity is what i experienced while treating myself. Meaningfull connection and service while treating others.

Okuden is the second degree and it means inner temple. You are initiated to three keys-symbols that allow you to give a session no matter how far the reciever is for as long as she or he has asked you for a session. Through the keys you can send healing energy on difficult situations concerning the past, the future and the present. Second degree offers infinite capacity to work on one's self. In few words, there are no limits: you may send reiki to any situation or person that makes your life hard.

The third degree is the master called Sinpiden  where few students will be initiated by the teacher to be his/her helper. This is called Sinan Kakou. When the student is ready, the teacher permits him/her to have his own sessions and students. This is called Sichan in japanese.
